Job Description:
This position will identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gifts from a core group of prospects and donors.
Maintain a prospect list of a minimum of 50 individuals that are capable of making a gift of $2,000+.
Manage and develop the Knights Athletics Association (KAA) including continuous re-evaluation of KAA initiatives and ways to elevate the group, provide outreach efforts to prospects and new and existing athletics donors.
Implement creative outreach efforts and special events for former Bellarmine student-athletes and young alumni to expand the KAA membership.
Manage the B-Club, former student athlete affinity group, in collaboration with the Alumni Association and Bellarmine's Athletics Department.
Enhance the Knights Hall hospitality experience.
Provide various KAA communications including social media pages promoting events, emails, and donor opportunities in collaboration with the Athletics Department.
Lead the Athletics Month of Giving to raise financial support for general giving, teams, etc.
Work with the Athletics Department to match donor intent with Bellarmine University's needs which may include general support, scholarships, capital projects or other specific projects.
Work with DAR's Director of Prospect Research on new athletics prospects and continue to reach out to current prospects and donors.
Coordinates with the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations, Development Officer for Bellarmine Athletics, the President, the Athletics Director, and others to ascertain specific Athletics needs in various operational areas; and acquire their assistance in developing strategies and gift solicitations (as needed)
Promote relationships between Bellarmine University and all athletics donors.
Serve as an ambassador of Bellarmine University, providing information on the institution's capabilities, mission, vision, and its ability to contribute to the region's growth, security, and culture.
Develop strategies for the acquisition of leadership annual gifts which may involve the participation of staff and faculty, vice presidents, the president, or prominent alumni and friends of Bellarmine University.
Prepare written proposals to be submitted for prospect consideration.
Assure that all gifts received are properly recorded, acknowledged, and administered by Bellarmine. Ascertain that donors receive appropriate stewardship for their gifts.
Coordinate communication through the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations and the DAR team to ensure that all necessary individuals are aware of the specific, ongoing efforts to acquire major gifts.
Develop an annual plan of work, including contact goals, fundraising goals, and annual cost estimates of expenditures to the Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations, Development Officer for Bellarmine Athletics, and Assistant Vice President of Development Operations; in collaboration with the Assistant Vice President of Development Operations, administer an operational budget with financial constraints.
Plan, coordinate, assist, and attend various donor relations and special events for donors and Bellarmine University community.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations.
Serve as coordinator of special projects as assigned by the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required, an advanced degree is preferred.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must have a thorough understanding of all aspects of fundraising.
Prior experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
A high degree of diplomacy and integrity is required, as well as exceptional motivation and creativity.
The individual must be able to engender confidence, enthusiasm, and promote financial support among various Bellarmine University constituencies.
Must be able to present well-developed strategies and implement effective courses of action in prospect solicitation.
Travel may be required to call on prospects, both locally in the Louisville area and nationally.
