The University of Sioux Falls invites applications for an Assistant Women’s Softball Coach.  USF is a member of the NCAA Division II and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. 

Job Description

The full-time position reports to the Head Softball Coach and Director of Athletics. The person in this position will assist with all aspects of running a collegiate Softball program. The selected candidate will assist the head coach with the day-to-day operations of the softball team and assist in organizing and running softball camps, fundraising, player development through practices, and team mental training, specifically working with the pitching staff.  

Additional duties will include recruiting, equipment maintenance, throwing batting practice, scheduling travel accommodations, and community service opportunities. The applicant must demonstrate leadership skills, organizational and communication skills, recruiting and coaching skills, and knowledge of and adherence to compliance with all NCAA applicable procedures, rules, and regulations.

Qualifications

The applicant must have significant knowledge of and demonstrated success in coaching softball, recruiting student-athletes, and strong motivation, organizational, and communication skills. The individual must demonstrate an understanding and belief in the Christian mission of the institution and work effectively while abiding by all NCAA DII, Northern Sun Conference, and University policies and procedures. 

A bachelor’s degree is required, along with coaching experience or a combination of playing and coaching experience, a strong professional work ethic, and a commitment to the academic success of USF student-athletes. Collegiate pitching experience is preferred. Travel is necessary with a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a background check and lift up to 40 lbs. is required.
