Saint Leo University is a Division II university located just north of Tampa and is part of the Sunshine State Conference. We are seeking applications for a full time 10-month athletic trainer. Primary sport oversight responsibilities include: men’s lacrosse, volleyball, beach volleyball, cross country, and men’s tennis. Candidate must be available to work nights and weekends as well as travel with teams. The position is anticipated to begin on 8/5/2024.
Job Description
Duties include but are not limited to:
Work under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Sports Medicine.
Follow the medical guidelines provided by the Team Physicians.
Plan, coordinate, organize and manage the daily treatment, rehabilitation and injury evaluations for Saint Leo student-athletes, emphasizing prevention of athletic injuries.
Maintain accurate and updated documentation of all injuries and general medical incidents using the Sportsware record-keeping system; including initial SOAP notes, daily progress notes, treatment records, rehabilitation programs, and appointment logs.
Be knowledgeable of and enforce all Saint Leo Sports Medicine/Athletics policies and procedures including but not limited to drug and substance abuse, mental health, concussion management, lightning, heat illness, nutrition and supplements, and catastrophic incidents.
Be knowledgeable of the medical emergency action plan for all assigned venues and ensure that the appropriate emergency equipment is available at each event.
Maintain a positive report and relationship with the athletic department staff, student-athletes, and college faculty/staff.

Qualifications:
Masters degree in athletic training preferred from an accredited institution in athletic training
Eligible for Florida State Licensure
Certified by Board of Certification (BOC)
Basic life support (BLS) for healthcare providers
Skills:
Care and prevention of injuries.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent record keeping.
Basic knowledge and use of Microsoft Office
