Job Purpose

Reporting to the Head Coach, the Director of Women’s Basketball Operations assists with all operational and administrative aspects of Winthrop’s NCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball program. 

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least one year of relevant experience for an intercollegiate, amateur or professional sports program.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a player or coach at the college/university level.

• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and the ability to apply them consistently.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work with staff, student-athletes and coaches from diverse backgrounds.
• Sufficient math and technical skills to perform job duties at a high level.
• Ability to work flexible hours.

Job Summary

• Coordinates practice times at home and on the road and assists with organizational aspects of practice.
• Records and maintains statistics during practices and games.
• Plans and arranges team travel. 
• Plans and arranges meals at home and away. 
• Makes all arrangements for team members during university breaks.
• Works with the department’s marketing and communications staff on social media accounts and promotions to increase attendance.
• Serves as liaison for Women’s Basketball team managers.
• Manages the administrative functions of summer camps and serves as camp liaison.
• Directs on-campus recruiting visits, including travel arrangements and itineraries.
• Plans and coordinates special events for Women’s Basketball alumni and programs.
•  Coordinates all coach and player ticket requests. 
• Assists coaches with academic and personal development of student-athletes.

Travel/Overtime Requirements

Ability to travel and work evenings, weekends and holidays, as necessary.

Valid driver's license required.
